The Secret of a third planet

Странное ощущение возникает, когда пересматриваешь мультфильмы, которые очень любил в детстве. Все события, которые там происходят, воспринимаются совершенно по новому – все, что в детстве считалось  само собой разумеющимся, во взрослом возрасте подвергается анализу, однако ощущения и эмоции остаются прежними.

There is a strange filling I get when I review cartoons which I liked as a kid. All events in them are perceived differently because you start not just except them like in childhood but analyze them. At the same time your feelings and emotions remain the same.

Когда я была маленькой, мне очень нравился мультфильм “Тайна третьей планеты”. Пересмотрев его сейчас, я снова убедилась, насколько там красивая анимация и музыка. Очень

яркий визуальный ряд со всеми этими странными существами, тигрокрысами и подсолнухами-фотокамерами в сочетании с мистичной музыкой, которая, по моему мнению, остается крутой и актуальной до сих пор, создают общую психоделичную атмосферу фильма. Еще меня по-прежнему веселит депрессивный капитан Зеленый (ну что у нас плохого?) и, как и в детстве, безумно пугает Громозека (Ребят, у чувака карандаши вместо глаз, вы это серьезно?).

When I was a little girl one of my favorite cartoons was “A secret of a Third planet”. I personally consider it a masterpiece of a soviet animation. It is based on a novel of soviet writer Kir Bulichov who among other great works has wrote series of books for children called “Alice’s adventures”. Movie tells us about Alice who visits different planets with her father in search of exotic animals for Moscow zoo. But during their expedition strange and mystic things start to happen.

Cartoon has amazing animation and soundtrack. Colorful images of fantastic creatures combining with dark womb of space and mysterious cosmic music create psychedelic atmosphere  of the movie. Also I still tenderly love depressive captain Zeleniy (Green). I think his name was formed from the Russian expression
“green melancholy” (toska zelyonaya). He lives with a feeling of instant catastrophe and repeats phrases like “What bad has happened?” and “It won’t end up good”. And of course I am still freaked out with an alien Zeleboba, in childhood he aroused in me complete terror (C’mon guys, dude has pencils instead of eyes, are you serious?)

Мультфильм делали четыре (!) года. Впоследствии его издали в нескольких странах. В США, к примеру, они переврали все реплики, а потом еще зачем-то написали свой саундтрек. Алису озвучивала Кирстен Данст, а говоруна – Джеймс Белуши. А в Англии еще смешнее - озвучке участвовали Хью Лори, Том Джонс, Хью Грант, Бейонсе и Юен

Макгрегор. В Италии за Громозеку говорил Адриано Челентано (о да).

В СССР у всех мультиков была своя неповторимая индивидуальность, каждый из них был отдельным произведением искусства, не похожим на другие, что нельзя сказать (при всей любви) про те же самые диснеевские мультики, которые достаточно однотипны. Очень жаль, что сейчас малышам вместо них показывают всякую компьютерную хрень.

Cartoon was released in other countries also. For example, in USA they distorted all the dialogues and made their own soundtrack (why for god’s sake?). Alice was voiced by Kirsten Dunst. In Britain movie was voiced by Hugh Lorie, Tom Jhones, Ewan McGregor, Beyonce and Hugh Grant. In Italy Gromozeka spoke with voice of Adriano Celentano (yeah, baby).

I think that each soviet cartoon had its own individuality in contrast to Disney cartoons which with all my love to some of them look pretty much the same.
